ABOUT DEEP BLUE YOGA

Being out on the water can give us a sense of freedom, joy, and calm. Practicing yoga on the water gives a sense of presence and challenge unlike any other. Founded in 2013 out of a deep love for both yoga and the water, Deep Blue Yoga (formerly SUP Yoga Seattle) offers a unique experience to combine these elements in classes that are accessible and empowering. Come float and flow with us!

I grew up on the beaches along the Virginia coast, and have spent a lifetime in and around water. After graduate school, I moved to Seattle and completed my yoga teacher training in 2012. Combining my love of yoga and water, I immediately pursued certifications in Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga from Lazy Dog Paddle in Key West and 3 Oms in Bellingham.

My classes are inclusive, accessible, challenging, and clear. I love the freedom that comes from being on a paddleboard, and love to share that joy with students. I truly believe yoga is for everybody, and paddleboard yoga is for anyone willing to try. I currently teach in several local Seattle studios, and teach office yoga online with Balanced Humans.

With respect and humility, I acknowledge that we are combining an ancient practice of well being from India with a paddle and surf technique developed by native Hawaiians, and are doing so in the waters of the Duwamish people.

When I'm not out on the board, I love to teach and play the French horn.
